David Newman, Director of EHS; Comcast Corp.

 

David Newman is Director of EHS for Comcast's Northeast Division, which includes 24,000 employees, and spans from Maine to North Carolina. His responsibilities include developing and leading EHS programs across the division, implementing new EHS Management systems, and reducing waste and environmental impacts.

 

Prior to joining the company, Mr. Newman was with EMD Millipore, the life sciences division of Merck, KGaA, where he served in a variety of roles, including: Head of EHS, Facilities and Sustainability; Director of Supply Security; and Plant Manager. Before Millipore he worked in EHS management consulting in the semiconductor and electronics industry.

 

He has lectured on environmental sustainability at Harvard Business School and University of Massachusetts Boston, and has master degrees in Public Health and Industrial Environmental Management. He is also a certified EMT and firefighter.
