Jeff Cohen, Co-founder; EOS Climate

Jeff Cohen is Co-founder of EOS Climate, a San Francisco-based company, pioneering the creation of market-based incentives to accelerate transition to more advanced, efficient refrigeration and air conditioning technologies and prevent emissions of powerful greenhouse gases.
He was responsible for acceptance of destruction of ozone depleting substances (ODS) as a greenhouse gas reduction in newly emerging GHG compliance programs. He originated the ISO 14064-2 protocol for ODS destruction adopted by the Climate Action Reserve and the California Air Resources Board.
Prior to founding EOS Climate, Mr. Cohen had a long career with U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, developing and implementing regulations, including national quality standards for particulates and sulfur dioxide in air, lead in air and drinking water, and the phasedown of lead in gasoline. From 1997 to 2007, he managed U.S. implementation of the Montreal Protocol, and launched several government/private partnerships across industry sectors to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
He holds an M.B.A. in Sustainable Management from Presidio School of Management in San Francisco, an M.S. in Public Health from the University of North Carolina and a B.S. in Biology from the State University of New York.
