Jim Barratt, General Manager of Business Development; BP Environmental Remediation
Jim Barratt is the General Manager of Business Development for BP's Environmental Remediation organization. He started his career in 1982 as a refinery process engineer with BP and from there held a variety of technical and commercial roles in refining and marketing. Since 1990, Mr. Barratt has held various positions in health, safety and environment, and has led BP's environmental due diligence activity since 2001. In his current role, he has global responsibility for the environmental aspects of major acquisitions, divestments and brownfield property transactions.
He has worked on many major transactions with BP, including the acquisition of Arco, Burmah Castrol, Veba Oel; the TNK-BP, and the Husky Oil Sands joint ventures, the divestment of BP's Chemicals Business; and more recently, BP's entry into Iraq.
