John Hoekstra, Director of Sustainability; Schneider Electric

 

John Hoekstra

John Hoekstra leads operations efforts for Schneider Electric's Sustainability Services division (formerly Summit Energy Services). As Director of Sustainability, he is responsible for leading strategy, technology, and implementation initiatives for client sustainability programs. His efforts include sustainability strategy, greenhouse gas management, waste management, supply chain sustainability assessment, resource efficiency implementation, renewable energy portfolio development, carbon position management and corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting.

 

His previous experience includes working in the environmental affairs and corporate governance departments for Dell Computer Corp. and Brown-Forman Corp., as well as process engineering with E.I. DuPont de Nemours. While with these organizations, he pioneered the implementation of "green" supply chain management programs and contributed to the development of corporate environmental policy and public relations communications relative to materials management.

 

Mr. Hoekstra has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisville and is a registered professional environmental engineer.
