Kent S. Koptiuch is the Florida Natural Resource Manager for Nestlé Waters North America Inc. (NWNA). Mr. Koptiuch is a hydrogeologist and Certified Groundwater Professional with more than 29 years experience in groundwater management. After 23 years as a private hydrogeologic consultant to industries and municipalities throughout the Northeastern United States, Mr. Koptiuch was hired by NWNA first to conduct water resource investigations in New York State and, since 2008, he has managed NWNA's water resources and sustainability initiatives in Florida.
NWNA operates two state-of-the-art water bottling plants in Florida, sourcing water from five distinct and unique natural springs with total spring-shed areas encompassing several thousand acres. Company properties are maintained in a natural state and operated under Forest and Land Use Management Plans or as Environmental Education Preserves to protect the spring water resources and to manage the timber on the property in a sustainable fashion utilizing best management practices.
Nationwide NWNA owns and maintains more than 50 natural spring water sources totaling more than 15,000 acres, and 28 water bottling plants across North America. To ensure that the spring water sources are managed appropriately, NWNA has a team of 10 Natural Resource Managers (dedicated professional groundwater scientists, hydrogeologists, and engineers), along with numerous support staff working full-time to monitor the water quality and quantity, and to work within their host communities as liaisons.
