Dr. Robert Skoglund, Senior Laboratory Manager; 3M Co.
Dr. Robert Skoglund is a Senior Laboratory Manager within the Corporate Medical Department of the 3M Co. in St. Paul, Minn., where he is responsible for the science-based assessment and communication of the hazards and risks of materials important to the company. This includes a global hazard communication program and other regulatory and applied toxicology issues/tasks that impact product responsibility/stewardship.
He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Minnesota, where he teaches and advises students in both the Toxicology graduate program and the School of Public Health's Division of Environmental Health Sciences. Dr. Skoglund is board certified in toxicology and industrial hygiene, and has been lecturing on regulatory and applied toxicology for over fifteen years. He has also authored a number of peer-reviewed publications on these topics, including journal articles, book chapters, and scientific abstracts.
Dr. Skoglund has a doctorate and master's degree in environmental health from the University of Minnesota and more than twenty years of experience in regulatory and applied toxicology. He is active in a number of professional societies and trade organizations including the Consumer Specialty Products Association American Chemistry Council, Society of Toxicology and Society for Chemical Hazard Communication and has served as a representative for U.S. industry in the development of GHS and REACH.
