Johanna Jobin, Director of Corporate Responsibility; EMD Millipore Corp.
As the Director of Corporate Responsibility, Ms. Jobin leads the EMD Millipore's corporate responsibility efforts, including the vision and strategic direction. Her responsibilities center around strengthening the division's business performance by embedding sustainability into key business practices and driving and upholding a culture of change. Key programs she manages include the division's greenhouse gas management and energy strategy, Design for Sustainability, stakeholder engagement, and reporting activities. Ms. Jobin also supports the Merck Group's Corporate Responsibility activities.
Currently she is leading the division's product sustainability strategy, messaging and branding, supporting the development of innovative opportunities for reducing life cycle environmental impacts, and developing solutions for customers including take-back and recycling programs and sustainable packaging improvements.
Prior to joining the former Millipore Corp. in 2008, she served as a Management Consultant, working with public and private sector clients in developing and implementing EHS and sustainability management systems. She received her Master of Environmental Management degree, with a certificate in Energy and Environment, from Duke University and is also an ISO 14001 trained auditor.
She is involved in a number of sustainability related organizations, and is currently President of the New England Chapter of the National Association for EHS Management (NAEM). She also serves on the City of Cambridge Climate Protection Action Committee and is a regular volunteer in the community for organizations such as Everybody Wins and Habitat for Humanity. She recently returned from Nepal where she helped build homes for a small village outside Kathmandu. She also co-founded and serves on the board for a local foundation that raises awareness against texting while driving.
