As vice president and general manager of the Environmental Services Division at Burns & McDonnell, Steve Nalefski leads more than 450 professionals dedicated to helping clients determine their most effective and cost-efficient environmental solutions. With more than 31 years of experience, Steve has devoted his career to environmental management consulting, with an emphasis on environmental assessment and remediation. He earned a bachelor's degree in geology from Illinois State University and did postgraduate study in hydrogeology at Wright State University.

A registered geologist in multiple states, Steve has led project teams on complex remediation programs worldwide, most notably in the petroleum and chemical industries. He has also assisted clients in the development and implementation of global compliance programs and environmental management systems.
