The Art of Goal Setting: Choosing Targets that Drive Meaningful Performance From setting initial goals to revising expectations, the speakers in this session will give examples of how targets were set and progress was tracked, along with a look to what the future holds. Key points will include who was involved in developing goals, measuring performance at business unit or facility vs. corporate levels, and the give-and-take between competing priorities.

| 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. | Beyond Cost Savings: Making the Business Case for Resource Management Reducing resource use saves money, but that is not always enough to gain project approval. This session will include conventional numbers used for calculating ROI as well as measures such as brand value, employee morale and being prepared for future resource constraints. Attendees will take away an understanding of ROI analysis as well as hear from EHS and Sustainability managers about specific projects they advanced by making a strong business case.

| 4:15 - 5:15 p.m. | Interactive Discussion of NAEM Research Findings: Leading-Edge EHS Sustainability Metrics Do you know if your EHS sustainability goals and metrics are more or less ambitious than your peers? NAEM Corporate Members and conference attendees will be given a survey to complete ahead of the conference, and the findings will be discussed on-site in this facilitated session. Attendees will be encouraged to contribute their own experiences as well pose questions to the group. All conference attendees will receive a copy of the results.

This session will give attendees insights into how to understand, quantify and mitigate their own risk inside their four walls and beyond.
